Duties

Basic Function:

As one of five Visa Assistants within the Non-immigrant Visa Unit (NIV), Assists in a range of NIV functions. Responsible for processing all visa applications from a pool of more than 120 nationalities. Assesses applicant's readiness to interview, expedited processing, fraud indicators, and prints and quality control issued visas. In an autonomous manner, evaluates and responds in writing to complex and routine inquiries. To complete duties and answer inquiries, use high-level subject matter knowledge.

Qualifications & Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least three years of experience in visa work and related consular work or three years of experience working with complex legal or regulatory material.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS - The applicant must provide the required documentation. Please see the Tab for Required Documents.

Education requirements:

Two years of post-secondary education are required at the college or university level.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE It may be tested.

Level IV Fluent in Reading/Writing/Speaking in English is required.

Level IV Fluent in Reading/Writing/Speaking in Arabic or Farsi or Hindi or Urdu is required.
