Description

We are seeking a Primary Teacher who is highly qualified and has experience in teaching.

Key Accountabilities
Encourage excellence and embrace the GEMS Core Values.
Provide the required curriculum. Demonstrate accurate and current knowledge of subject matter and curriculum.
To motivate students, plan and deliver high-quality lessons. Use the appropriate materials and classroom environment to accommodate different learning styles.
On request, provide written proof of planning and preparation. Keep records of attendance, curriculum, year plans, and assessment plans.
You must ensure that the GEMS policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Use appropriate teaching methods to teach students as per their needs
Strategies that address student needs and abilities, such as late-entering students or ESL
Low academic ability, gifted and talent, etc.
Mark and set work. Record, assess and report on academic work
Assessment to assess the progress, development and achievement of students
Ensure that the curriculum is tailored to the needs of each student.
Demonstrate competence in the use of technology and media in the classroom.
Encourage the overall progress and well-being students, and offer guidance to students regarding educational matters.
When appropriate, communicate with people outside of the school (e.g Ministry of Education officials).
Participate in Performance Management and Appraisal procedures, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching materials, resources and courses of study, as well as pastoral arrangements.
Assist in and lead, as appropriate, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities at the school. Promoting good working relationships by active leadership and sharing ideas, materials, and experiences.
Supervise and monitor safe and appropriate behavior among students. Develop and implement strategies that encourage self-discipline, and manage disruptive behavior.
Encourage cultural awareness and understanding, and foster a love for learning.
Assist with the organization and planning of school functions and events (e.g. inter-house competitions and concerts, school plays and prize days, etc.).
Regularly communicate with parents and promote the GEMS philosophy. Keep parents informed about student progress and respect confidentiality.
You should be able to put in extra effort when the tasks are more difficult.
Assist staff members in meetings and serve as a member of committees, if necessary.
Other duties as directed by dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.

Pastoral and Academic Responsibilities
A well-planned and vibrant learning environment that promotes student-centered learning is essential for delivering effective lessons.
Liaising and supporting middle leaders, SENCO, administrators, and other teachers
Collaborate with other teachers to enhance and improve skills, knowledge, and pedagogy in order to improve student outcomes.
Contributing effectively to team planning
To support academic excellence in each section, work directly with the Section/Key Stage Leaders or Heads of the Department
Participate in the Quality Assurance Programme for Parent Engagement to ensure exceptional standards of parent communication and engagement
To ensure that all lessons are taught to the highest standard, it is important to be familiar with the UAE teaching framework
Mentoring/coaching methods are encouraged to encourage reflective practice and new learning strategies.
Assist in peer observation and assist with the creation of action plans as needed
As appropriate, and as required, take an active part in the quality assurance of teaching, learning, and assessment.
All UK-trained teachers are expected to lead and support school and fellow colleagues in a school with 80% of their teaching colleagues not being from the UK.
Participate in peer reviews and attend internal and externe events. Be proactive in your professional development.
Identify areas where you can do good work and create and share resources to be exemplars.
Encourage, promote, and include teaching staff in creative initiatives that share best practice.
Make sure that appraisal action plans are informed by observations
Monitoring and driving improvements in the quality and quantity of written feedback (marking) and oral feedback to learners
Make sure that the curriculum supports and is underpinned by effective work plans and well-differentiated lesson planning
All documentation supporting learning, teaching and assessment (schemes, lesson plans, etc.) must be in order. Meets the requirements of GEMS and WSF

General Responsibilities
Promote and model the Code of Conduct & GEMS Core Values
Other professional duties that may be reasonably delegated to you by your Line Manager (LM), such as teaching, recruiting, cover, after-school duty, MOE formalities and covering for LM when absent. Inspection preparation, SEF, SDP etc.
Promoting the school positively in the community and GEMS, while keeping it completely confidential
Respect local customs, laws and culture
Respect deadlines set by LM
Contribute towards the improvement of teaching and learning by focusing on pedagogy and standards.
Assist in external and internal assessments to ensure academic excellence.
Contribute to the professional learning program for high-quality teaching and learning
All stakeholders and the larger community should be encouraged to promote the school.
Support, encourage, and assist in the development of all School's goals, vision, improvement plans and policies.

Knowledge and qualifications:
An accredited teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor in Early Primary Education or BA in Education. This is a regular course that lasts 3 to 4 years. The use of ICT in schools to support teaching and learning.

Skills:
A skilled teacher with a strong commitment to learning and teaching. You are looking for outstanding teaching and learning, as well as strong knowledge in the relevant field.

Experience:
